Newborn photography is all about preserving those fleeting moments when your baby is still so tiny and new. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing a beautiful family of four—two loving mothers, their adorable son Kash, and their newborn baby girl, Imali. It was a session filled with warmth, joy, and plenty of sweet moments that will forever be cherished through these newborn photos.
Creating Magical Newborn Photos with Props
We kicked off the session with some delightful prop setups, starting with Imali wrapped snugly in a soft, cream-colored wrap. She was gently placed in a fluffy bowl and a handwoven basket, both of which provided a cozy and timeless backdrop for her newborn photos. To add an extra touch of sweetness, we gave her a tiny teddy bear to snuggle with, which made for some truly heartwarming shots.
Capturing the Sweet Details
After the prop shots, we moved on to one of my favorite parts of newborn photography—the beanbag poses! Imali was placed on a soft pink blanket, wearing the most adorable little flower headband. These poses allowed us to focus on all the tiny details that make newborn photography so special. We captured close-ups of her delicate fingers, teeny tiny feet, and even her precious little toes. These are the kinds of details that new parents will treasure forever.
Big Brother’s Moment to Shine
Next up was Kash’s turn to step in for some sibling photos with his new baby sister. Even though he’s still getting used to his new role as a big brother, Kash was incredibly gentle and loving towards Imali. His tender interactions with her were simply heart-melting. As a newborn photographer, it’s always special to capture those early moments of sibling bonding, and Kash’s care and sweetness shone through in every shot.
Family Photos Full of Love
Of course, we couldn’t finish the session without capturing some heartwarming family portraits. The love and connection between the whole family were palpable. Kash even treated us to a few cheeky grins throughout the session, adding an extra touch of playfulness to the family photos. These moments of joy, love, and laughter are what make family-centered newborn photography so special.
Mother-Daughter Bond
To wrap up the session, we took some tender mother-daughter portraits. Imali posed with each of her mothers individually, as well as with both of them together. These intimate moments between mother and daughter will serve as a beautiful reminder of the love and care that surrounded Imali from the very beginning.
