On a partly cloudy day, I had the privilege of capturing a beautiful maternity photography session with Cherize and Brentley. As they approached North Lakes for their very first maternity shoot, it was clear they were a little nervous, yet their excitement about becoming parents was absolutely contagious. The combination of love, anticipation, and joy made for a truly special day.
Maternity photography is all about showcasing the unique beauty of pregnancy while capturing the connection between parents as they prepare to welcome their little one. For Cherize and Brentley, the setting at North Lakes, with its tall grass and expansive field, couldn’t have been more perfect.
We began the session in a secluded spot with the tallest grass, creating a natural and serene backdrop. Cherize slipped into the white, lacy Everly wrap, which offered two stunning looks. First, we captured some modest and intimate shots, highlighting the gentle curves of her growing belly. Then, Cherize opted for a more revealing style, allowing her belly to be the star of the show. This provided a wonderful opportunity to photograph those tender, intimate moments between her and Brentley, their connection palpable as they embraced in the long grass.
Next, Cherize changed into the breathtaking blue Athena gown, and we moved to a different spot overlooking the field. The soft blue tones of the dress, paired with the expansive view, gave Cherize a goddess-like appearance. Brentley, always playful, leaned in and whispered sweet and cheeky things in her ear, creating the perfect opportunity to capture those natural, candid moments that make maternity photos so special.
As the session drew to a close, Cherize slipped into the beige Willow dress just as the sun began to set. The warm, golden light bathed them in a soft glow, adding an ethereal touch to the final shots. By this point, the nervousness had completely faded, and Cherize and Brentley were laughing, creating such an easygoing and joyful atmosphere. We were all laughing so hard that tears nearly rolled down our faces—a truly perfect ending to an unforgettable maternity photography session.
Cherize and Brentley’s love for each other and excitement about becoming parents were at the heart of every moment we captured that day. The natural beauty of the location and the variety of looks allowed us to create a diverse collection of maternity photos that truly reflect their journey into parenthood.
