It is important that your family feels comfortable and happy on the day. We find that sessions are most successful if children are dressed in clothing that is not uncomfortable. Please also avoid loud prints, checks, stripes, or big logos. The ground surface will likely be sandy with grass in patches, please keep this in mind (high heels may not be practical).
For younger children please bring some snacks, water bottle and perhaps a favourite toy or book. Leading up to your family photography session, please talk to your children about what we will be doing on the day. It is important to talk enthusiastically about how much fun we will have taking family photographs (yes we will play some games once the portraits have been taken). I do also find that using a reward such as a special dinner after the family photoshoot, can be a good motivator.
We are so lucky in Queensland to be blessed with wonderful sunny tropical weather. However, with it brings mosquitos, please bring some insect repellent with you to your family photography session.
Lastly, we ask that you come with a big smile and an eagerness to laugh with your family as we capture the joy and love between you all. The happier you and your family are during the family photography session, the better the photographs will turn out. A child’s mood will typically reflect that of their parents, so please stay calm, find the joy, and laugh with your children at every opportunity.
