Cake Smash Photography is a fun and exciting way to capture your baby’s first birthday. These sessions are best done just before their first birthday but we only take 4 per month, so it’s important that you let us know as soon as you decide you want to celebrate your Little One’s Birthday with a Cake Smash Photography session.
Our Cake Smash Photography Sessions take place at our beautiful Chermside West Studio. We style these sessions with one of our beautiful professional backdrops (we have 15 to choose from) and professionally made 5 inch cake.
Our Cake Smash Photography sessions take about an hour and include: pre smash portraits on our white feature wall, cake smash and a splash in our miniature claw-foot bathtub. Our Premium Cake Smash Photography Package also includes a location family session which has become increasingly popular.

To book you in, we will need some more information from you, such as contact information. If you require a weekend photoshoot, please try to book this in at least 3 months in advance. Our weekend spots are limited and sell out quite far in advance. If you are ready to book your Cake Smash photography session, send us a message via our Contact us page and we will come back to you as soon as possible.
Once we have you booked in we will send you a Contract, Invoice and a Questionnaire, please read through these documents, and tend to them as required. We will also send you an email setting out all of the cake smash backdrops that we have available. Please let us know as soon as you settle on a backdrop so that we can begin working with our Baker. While we do have some basic items available for use in the Studio, we ask you to source your own outfit for these. Please also take note that parents will likely be handling a cake-covered toddler, we highly recommend bringing some spare clothes, or clothes that you don’t mind getting messy.
Bring your usual nappy bag, some snacks and some of baby’s favourite toys. We also ask you to have a practice run at home by putting baby down in front of a decorated cupcake and encouraging them to play, smash, eat the cupcake. Be happy with baby, laugh with them and encourage them. This preparation will help baby feel a little more confident on the day.
