Cake Smash Photography is a fun and exciting way to capture your baby’s first birthday. These sessions are best done just before their first birthday but we only take 4 per month, so it’s important that you let us know as soon as you decide you want to celebrate your Little One’s Birthday with a Cake Smash Photography session.
Our Cake Smash Photography Sessions take place at our beautiful Chermside West Studio. We style these sessions with a simple but fun set up including: balloon garland, falling confetti and professionally made 5 inch cake. We prefer this simple but fun set up because it allows the photographs to focus on your Little One, rather than a busy backdrop. Keeping our set ups simple like this, also allows us to respect other artists work and to work within Copyright laws.
Our Cake Smash Photography sessions take about an hour and include: pre smash portraits, cake smash and a splash in our miniature claw-foot bathtub. Our Premium Cake Smash Photography Package also includes a location family session which has become increasingly popular.

To book you in, we will need some more information from you, such as contact information. If you require a weekend photoshoot, please try to book this in at least 3 months in advance. Our weekend spots are limited and sell out quite far in advance. If you are ready to book your Cake Smash photography session, send us a message via our Contact us page and we will come back to you as soon as possible.
Once we have you booked in we ask that you notify us if your Little One has any dietary requirements. We will liaise with our Baker to make sure they can provide a cake to fit your requirements.
We ask you to source your own outfit and to provide us with some sample pictures so that we can tailor our decorations around it.
Bring your usual nappy bag, some snacks and some of baby’s favourite toys. We also ask you to have a practice run at home by putting baby down in front of a decorated cupcake and encouraging them to play, smash, eat the cupcake. Be happy with baby, laugh with them and encourage them. This preparation will help baby feel a little more confident on the day.
