Today was one of those special days when I got to witness the purest of joys – the arrival of a new life. Shiralee and Shane, a lovely couple who I previously worked with during their maternity session, returned to the studio with their newborn baby boy, Gabriel. As a Newborn Photographer, these are the moments that truly warm my heart.
We began the session with Gabriel’s solo Newborn Photos, using a cozy setup on the beanbag. Wrapped in a dark green blanket, his delicate features were highlighted beautifully by the soft lighting in the studio. The rich green tones brought out his newborn glow, making the moment even more magical.
Next, we moved on to the props – always a fun part of Newborn Photography! Gabriel was placed snugly in a fluffy bowl, wearing an adorable little hat. To add a touch of sweetness, he was even snuggled up with a teddy bear. These setups make for timeless photos that families cherish for years to come.
Finally, we transitioned to capturing some intimate family photos. Shiralee and Shane took turns holding their precious baby boy, and then we captured the three of them together. The love they share for Gabriel was so evident, and as a Newborn Photographer, it’s moments like these that make this work so fulfilling. The bond between parents and their newborn is something words can’t fully describe, but photos can.
Newborn Photography is about more than just taking cute pictures; it’s about freezing these fleeting moments in time. Gabriel will grow quickly, but these images will allow Shiralee and Shane to hold on to the beautiful early days of his life forever.
