Maternity photoshoots are a special and cherished experience for expecting parents. It’s a chance to capture the beauty and anticipation of pregnancy, creating lasting memories that can be cherished for years to come. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing Taylor and Mitchell’s maternity photoshoot at the picturesque North Lakes, where the tall fluffy grass served as a stunning backdrop for their session.
Taylor, radiating with joy and excitement, was 34 weeks along in her pregnancy. The couple, who had spent their entire lives in Brisbane, were eagerly awaiting the arrival of their baby boy, their first child together. As the sun shone brightly, we sought refuge in the shade, starting the session with Taylor donning a beautiful cream pirate queen robe. It was during this initial phase of the photoshoot that I learned about Taylor and Mitchell’s remarkable journey as a couple.
They had known each other since their teenage years, having crossed paths at the age of 16. Although they didn’t stay together at that time, they remained close friends. Fate, however, had different plans for them, and their paths eventually intertwined once again, leading them to rekindle their relationship. Since then, they had been inseparable, culminating in a small and intimate wedding a few months prior, where only their closest family and friends were present to witness their love and commitment.
As we moved to different locations throughout the shoot, Taylor changed into her favorite gown, a breathtaking white folklore dress. The dress symbolized not only her elegance and grace but also the beginning of their journey as a family. Their anticipation and love for their soon-to-arrive baby boy were palpable, creating an aura of warmth and tenderness during the session.
For the final part of the maternity photoshoot, Taylor wore a mesmerizing gold glitter voile dress. As the sun began its descent, we ventured towards a serene spot amidst the tall fluffy grass. It was there that Taylor truly shone, her golden dress accentuating the glow of motherhood. While capturing these breathtaking moments, Taylor and Mitchell shared their plans for the future.
In just a few months, Mitchell would be embarking on a journey to train for the Air Force, and Taylor, accompanied by their newborn son, would be joining him. It marked a significant milestone for their little family as they prepared to leave Brisbane and settle in Newcastle. They spoke of their excitement and also their preparations for the cooler weather that awaited them in their new home.
As the session came to a close, I couldn’t help but feel privileged to have been a part of Taylor and Mitchell’s maternity photoshoot. It was an honor to capture their love, joy, and the anticipation of welcoming their baby boy into the world. Their story reminded me of the beauty that blossoms from unexpected beginnings and the strength that love brings to our lives.
