Last week, I had the pleasure of working with the lovely family of Niaomi, her partner Karina, and their daughter Aurelia. With another little one on the way, this maternity photography session was the perfect opportunity to celebrate the joy of growth and change in their lives.
A Serene Setting at North Lakes
The session took place at North Lakes, where the landscape offered a breathtaking backdrop for our maternity photos. We set up in a wide-open field, filled with long, fluffy grasses that danced in the gentle breeze. The day was partly sunny—just enough soft, filtered light to give our photos that dreamy glow. It was a peaceful evening, and the setting sun transformed the tall grasses into a golden sea, providing the perfect stage for a family filled with love, hope, and excitement.
Capturing the Family’s Love and Anticipation
Before we began, Niaomi and Karina shared their vision for the maternity photo shoot. They wanted a relaxed, intimate vibe that would capture their family’s genuine connection. Aurelia was full of energy and curiosity, running through the field and exploring the textured grass. Looking back through the images, I can’t help but feel grateful for being able to document these moments. As a maternity photographer, it’s a privilege to witness such love and excitement, to freeze these precious moments in time before the new baby arrives and changes their world all over again.
