Maternity Photography with Alice and Lance

It was a perfect, sunny day at Bribie Island when I had the pleasure of meeting Alice and her husband Lance for their very first maternity photoshoot. As their maternity photographer, I could feel their excitement and maybe just a touch of nervousness as we made our way toward the stunning beach backdrop. The day was set to capture a beautiful moment in their lives, and I was thrilled to be a part of it.

Before we reached the beach, Alice changed into the breathtaking Goldie maxi dress in a rich rust color. We paused at a picturesque spot with a large tree overlooking the water, capturing some beautiful maternity photos. Here, Alice and Lance took in the view and shared quiet, intimate moments, getting a glimpse of how special this maternity photography session was going to be.

As we finally made it to the beach, Alice and Lance took long, leisurely walks along the shore. Their laughter and playful hip bumps were pure joy to witness. They truly embodied the happiness and anticipation of parents-to-be, making my role as their maternity photographer that much easier.

However, as is often the case with outdoor sessions, the weather took a turn. Bribie’s bright sun began to fade as clouds rolled in, threatening to steal our light. Sensing the change, we quickly transitioned to Alice’s second outfit—the gorgeous Gold Glitter Voile dress. We managed to capture some stunning shots in the last moments of sunlight, and Alice radiated pure goddess energy, eagerly awaiting the arrival of her little one. These maternity photos were nothing short of magical.

Once the sun was fully tucked behind the clouds, a serene, diffused light took over the beach, casting a peaceful glow on everything around us. Alice changed into the white Everly Wrap dress—my personal favorite of the day. We found a small patch of grass nearby, perfect for a quiet moment of connection with nature. Alice and Lance cuddled close, and I captured their love and anticipation in every shot.

To wrap up the session, we returned to the water’s edge for some stunning solo images of Alice. The wrap dress fell open, revealing her beautiful baby bump against the soft pink hues emerging in the sky. In those final moments, Alice and Lance embraced once more, reflecting on their journey and savoring the moment before their lives changed forever. It felt as if time had slowed down, allowing them to appreciate their last days as a couple before becoming a family of three.

Being their maternity photographer was an absolute joy, and this session is one I’ll carry with me for years to come. The connection, the beauty, and the genuine love Alice and Lance shared made this maternity photography session unforgettable. I can’t wait to see where their journey as a family takes them next. I wish them all the best as they eagerly await the arrival of their newest family member.

These are the moments that make me love being a maternity photographer, capturing memories that will last a lifetime.
