Mia’s 1st Birthday Cake Smash Photography Session
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Mia’s family for several years now, and it’s always a special treat to have them back in the studio. As a dedicated cake smash photographer, it fills my heart with joy to capture these precious milestones. When I heard that Mia was turning one, I knew this cake smash photography session would be extra special.
We began Mia’s first birthday session by taking some lovely portraits against our classic white feature wall. This setting always provides a timeless and elegant backdrop, allowing Mia’s sweet personality to shine through. We captured a variety of images—Mia on her own, with her mom and dad, and of course, we had to include her big brother! These pre-cake smash photos really help tell the full story of Mia at this tender age.
After the portraits, it was time for the main event: the cake smash photo session! We set up a gorgeous pink balloon arch backdrop, carefully chosen to complement the theme. The cake, inspired by the set itself, was a soft pink creation that looked almost too pretty to smash—but that’s what cake smash photography is all about! Mia’s curiosity and delight at the taste and texture of the cake made for some truly memorable images. Every giggle and smile reminded me why I love being a cake smash photographer.
To wrap up the session, we offered a fun and playful bath setup. Surrounded by fluffy towels and adorable rubber ducks, Mia splashed and played, giving us even more cake smash photos to cherish. This final element of the session helped clean up all that cake while adding a joyful, candid aspect to the gallery.
We had so much fun welcoming Mia and her family back into our studio. It’s an honor to be a part of these precious memories and to capture moments that they’ll treasure forever.
